"Intifada or Uprising is an expression of the anguish and rage of the Palestinian people, having their land taken from them. The painting shows the children grasping golden rocks---representing the precious land. They have only rocks to throw to defend themselves against the Israeli military hardware. A woman holds her dead child while her home is destroyed by fire. In the year 2002 this situation remains the same."
