Anne Sharlene McLearon is a Canadian artist living in London, Ontario.  She studied art in Canada in the 70's & 80's at the Ottawa School of Art, Algonquin College, Carleton University and the National Gallery of Canada.  International studies include Paris American Academy in Paris, France, Centro Europa Della Terracotta in Florence, Italy and the Chatauqua Institute in New York.  Studies include art history, life drawing and painting, drawing, watercolor, oil & acrylic painting, colour theory, portraiture, Tibetan & Renaissance painting, sumi-e painting, sculpture, engraving, wood carving, constructivism, batik, copper enamelling, photography and visual arts business.  A Docent at the National Gallery of Canada in the early 80's, Sharlene specialized in fine art appreciation for children and conducted tours in the National Gallery.

Sharlene has participated in group art shows in Saudi Arabia, Canada & Germany.  As a resident of Saudi Arabia from 1984 until 2000 Sharlene had many solo exhibitions in cities across that country.  The National Museum for Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. recognized Sharlene's artistic accomplishments in 1993 and opened a file for her work in their Archives. UNICEF selected her painting "Sunflowers" for a correspondence card and marketed it in 1997 in Europe and Asia.  Sharlene's work can be found in private & corporate collections in 35 countries.

She has taught art, and illustrated for magazines and books. See "Parallel Careers" for her work in print and television journalism, poetry, public speaking, nursing and philanthropic work.  She is a Reiki Master and Integrated Energy TherapyŽ Master-Instructor.  She works from her home studio in London, Ontario & exhibits about sixty paintings & drawings in her home at any one time.
